I needed a couple of masculine birthday cards and one
stamp set immediately came to mind – Rooted In Nature. This is one of my favorites stamp sets and it
is so versatile! I like clean and simple
cards and this set naturally lends itself to that style.
I used Whisper White Card Stock for the card base and
layer. I ran the layer through the Big
Shot using the Subtle 3D embossing folder.
I stamped the wood slice with Crumb Cake ink, fussy cut it out and sponged
Soft Suede ink around the edges. I glued
Mossy Meadow Linen Thread behind the wood slice. I stamped the tree with Soft Seafoam ink, the
tree trunk with Soft Suede Stampin’ Write marker, and the leaves with Soft Seafoam
and Mossy Meadow ink. I cut the tree and
leaves out using the Nature’s Roots dies.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the wood slice and the tree to
the card front and Mini Glue Dots to adhere the leaves. I stamped Happy Birthday using the Itty Bitty
Birthdays stamp set onto a ½ inch piece of Whisper White card stock using Mossy
Meadow ink, punched the edge using the Banner Triple punch and adhered it using
Stampin’ Dimensionals. Last, I added Rhinestone
Basic Jewels.
I also duplicated this card, but substituted Very
Vanilla card stock and the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing folder.
I decided to stamp a #simplestamping version of this card too – just using stamps, inks and paper. I couldn’t resist adding the Rhinestone
Basic Jewels to these cards, but you could leave them off!
